Why North America Can't Build Nice Apartments (because of one rule)

January 8, 2024

density dad is a reader-supported publication covering all things urbanism and the built environment. Topics range from housing and public transportation to land use, safe bike infrastructure, and building equitable communities.

I hope the opening week of 2024, wasn't too much of a blur for you. I've spent a lot of time this week getting my tools together and have really enjoyed my new Traveler's Notebook as a way to consolidate all the hats I wear as journalist, business owner, husband and father. I am happy to announce my first piece as an Equitable Cities Reporting Fellow for Next City is now live and can now be read here! I take a swing at what advocates should be doing as of right now to prepare for another year of fighting the good fight towards a better world.

What's Keeping Me Up At Night?

If you've had a recent in-person conversation with me about my hometown of Richmond, Virginia, you'd know I've been rather vocal about how we continue to fall short of our untapped potential. We have incredible advocates and reporters. However, this one thing is really holding us back.

We'll keep the dad jokes to a minimum. No spam, ever.
