density dad is a reader-supported publication covering all things urbanism and the built environment. Topics range from housing and public transportation to land use, safe bike infrastructure, and building equitable communities.
I hope the opening week of 2024, wasn't too much of a blur for you. I've spent a lot of time this week getting my tools together and have really enjoyed my new Traveler's Notebook as a way to consolidate all the hats I wear as journalist, business owner, husband and father. Small Town Lovin'
It's been a while since I did a "Small Town Lovin'" feature but I wanted to share this cozy snippet of Middleburg, VA! My wife and I had plans to get away to Salamander Resort this year for sure but we are now even more excited to frolic around their downtown.

We have incredible advocates and reporters. We have non-conforming use infrastructure, beautiful adaptive reuse housing and a riverfront to really get creative on some incredible and dynamic development projects. However, this one thing is really holding us back.
